The Fund Development Manager will play a key role in sustaining and expanding this impact.
Position Overview
Oaktree Institute is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to lead our client partnerships and sales operations. This role is central to advancing Oaktree’s mission by cultivating meaningful relationships with nonprofit organizations, managing the full sales lifecycle, and ensuring operational excellence across client engagements. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting mission-driven work through effective sales and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Client Engagement
- Drive outbound sales efforts and proactively generate new client leads
- Respond to inbound inquiries and guide prospective clients through the sales process
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-sale phase, ensuring timely and professional communication
- Develop and manage proposals, scopes of work, and pricing structures
- Maintain internal sales dashboards and track deliverables to ensure transparency and accountability
- Facilitate smooth handoffs from sales to operations/training teams, supporting cross-functional coordination
- Contribute to the development and refinement of sales collateral, marketing materials, and go-to-market strategies
- Collaborate on product enhancements that align with client needs and market trends
Sales Operations & Administration
- Organize and maintain all sales documentation, including CRM records, contracts, proposals, and invoices
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of sales and operational data
- Partner with the Executive Director to set annual goals, develop departmental plans, and produce quarterly reports
- Participate in weekly team calls to share updates and review progress
- Support strategic planning efforts with the Executive Team
- Complete additional projects or tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Skills & Competencies
- Sales Expertise: Understanding of sales operations, proposal development, pricing strategies, and go-to-market planning
- Client Relationship Management: Ability to build trust, maintain professional communication, and manage pre-sale client interactions
- Project Management: Skilled in coordinating deliverables, tracking progress, and ensuring smooth handoffs between departments
- Administrative Precision: Organized with documentation, contracts, and internal reporting
- Strategic Thinking: Capable of contributing to organizational strategy and long-term planning
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with attention to tone and professionalism
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in productivity tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office), CRM platforms, and digital collaboration tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in sales, client relations, or partnership management, ideally B2B
- Proven success in B2B sales, lead generation, and managing client pipelines
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and/or sales dashboards
Compensation:
- Range of $60,000-$80,000 based on qualifications
